A necklace can be a truly a stunning piece of jewelry. That wasn’t always the case of course because the earliest necklaces from thousands of years ago were nothing more than shells or beads strung together with primitive make-shift thread. They probably signified wealth or power even back then and carried with them a certain amount of social distinction. But they were not stunning.

They can be cut exactly as precious or semi-precious stones are cut. They can be set into any jewelry setting made today. A pendant (in jewelry terms) is an object that hangs from a necklace. Usually that means the object hangs from a simple chain making it possible to change out objects to create different necklaces. A heart-shaped necklace is one of the simplest and yet most beautiful necklace designs in the world today. A single heart at the end of a chain worn around the neck is romantic and timeless. Yet when that single heart is fashioned with natural gemstones the price tag can be up to several hundred dollars.

But cubic zirconia stones can be substituted to bring the price way down while still delivering a dazzling look. In fact, you can find cubic zirconia heart necklaces made to resemble emeralds, rubies, or even diamonds for as $35.00. And they look fantastic.

Originally, Cubic Zirconia was constructed to imitate diamonds. It did its job well and because it became so popular as an affordable “diamond substitute,” manufacturing soon expanded to create CZ stones that resembled other precious gemstones. But CZ diamonds still make up the bulk of all the CZ jewelry sold today.

You can find CZ diamond necklaces that mimic any natural diamond necklace on the planet. In fact, you can even find a CZ version of the famous Hope Diamond necklace. That replica will set you back nearly $350.00 so it’s on the expensive side of the scale. But you can find many beautiful necklaces, both replicas and “one-offs” that are priced between $60.00 and $200.00. CZ diamonds are really quite stunning.
